Orchid is an annual publication of the society for Stephanians and beyond, centering on culture and life. Penned in the English medium, our journal explores the motley North-East Indian fringes, meticulously curated to bridge divides that continue to shroud the region. Christened by our preceptors for both representative and symbolic reasons, the name derives from a flora allegorical to the realm. In the words of our first Editor-in-Chief Lina Poumai, “Our Journal was to be an orchid onto your hands, an orchid as a token of our love and as a gift from us to you”.
The journal is an amalgamation of many minds and with each successive volume, we hope our readers find within the leaves of our pages an aperture to our hills and narratives close to their hearts.
